Hello and welcome! I expect you have come because you have purchased a print from my Etsy Shop, Designed by Marsha. First, a big THANK YOU for your purchase. If you are applying this tutorial to a purchase you made elsewhere, I have used the same settings for 8×10 prints I’ve purchased from other shops. The only difference was that they didn’t come with a guideline for trimming. However, it’s always best to follow the instructions given by the seller (if any) as the size and printer settings requirements may be different.
Next, for the paper I recommend using cardstock paper. You can purchase it at Walmart or from Amazon:
Once you cardstock printer paper is loaded and your ink is in good supply, here is what to do:
Open up your file and click “File” and then “Print”.
The print screen will pop up. When it does, make sure “Fit Picture to Frame” is selected.
When it is printed you will end up with something like this:
The next step is to use the black border (guidelines) to cut out your print. You can use scissors, I personally use the Fiskars Personal Paper Trimmer for accuracy.
The final product will measure 8 x 10 inches.
All that is left to do is place your beautiful print in the frame of your choice =).
