Who is excited for summer? I am! You’ve probably noticed a theme now with all of these sand-based sensory activities. We miss summer, and our sandbox so I am trying to bring some of those fun summer activities inside.
To make this fun garden sensory bin yourself, start by lining the bottom with enough sand to plant your garden items. I used what I had on hand as play food. I used asparagus, jalapeno, cucumber, grapes, red pepper, and a chilli pepper.
I took these two mini plastic planters from the summer sandbox toys. Miss V hasn’t seen them since I packed them up at the end of summer so it was exciting for her to have something “new” to play with.
To go with the planters I added this pink mini scoop. They are actually bead scoops that I found in a pack of three at the Dollar Tree for $1.25. I used the other two scoops in the Treasure Hunt Sensory Play bin and the Bug Sensory Play bin.

I thought it might be a cute idea to add Miss V’s tea pot from her Melissa & Doug Bella Butterfly Tea Set so that she could water her garden.
When she is finished playing, everything fits nicely in these Sterilite storage bins. I purchased them around boxing day at Walmart, a set of 5 for $5.00.
